All About Our Story

How It All Began

Nic Wilson was a bright, funny, and deeply loved young woman who brought light into the lives of everyone who knew her.

Behind that light, Nic quietly battled with her mental health from a young age — facing depression, self-doubt, and difficult days that many never saw.

In 2018, at just 26 years old, Nic tragically died by suicide. Her loss devastated her family, friends, and the wider community.

Turning Loss Into Hope

Nic’s Voices of Hope was created in her memory — not just to remember her, but to help others who may be facing similar struggles.

The idea came from a simple but powerful belief:
that more spaces are needed where women can talk openly and feel understood.

Working closely with Nic’s family, the group was founded to honour her life and create something meaningful from loss.

What We Do

Nic’s Voices of Hope is a peer-to-peer support group for women aged 18+. We provide a safe, welcoming space where women can come together to talk, listen, and feel supported. We’re here to reduce isolation, encourage open conversation around mental health, and remind women they’re not alone.

Peer-to-Peer Support

01

We provide a safe, confidential space for women to come together and talk about whatever is on their mind.

There is no pressure to speak — you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
